Important information for members

OUR COUNTER SERVICE IS NOW CLOSED FOR THE FORSEEABLE FUTURE

ALL OTHER WORK ON YOUR ACCOUNT (RECEIVING BENEFITS, WAGES, AND CREDITS TO YOUR ACCOUNT AND MAKING USUAL PAYMENTS – SUCH AS RENT, ETC.) WILL CONTINUE TO BE PROCESSED BY US.

AS OUR COUNTER SERVICE FOR CASH WITHDRAWALS HAS NOW CLOSED, WE HAVE COME TO AN AGREEMENT WITH JERSEY POST TO PROVIDE AN ALTERNATIVE SERVICE. THIS MEANS WE WILL GIVE YOU A CHEQUE WHICH THEY WILL THEN CASH FOR YOU AT THE BROAD STREET POST OFFICE ONLY.

IF YOU WISH TO MAKE USE OF THIS ARRANGEMENT TO GET CASH YOU WILL NEED TO GIVE US 7 DAYS’ NOTICE (AS PER USUAL).  WE STILL NEED YOU TO PROVIDE A SIGNED AND WRITTEN INSTRUCTION WHICH CAN SENT TO US EITHER BY EMAIL OR POST OR BY DROPPING IT THROUGH OUR OFFICE LETTERBOX..

ONCE WE RECEIVE YOUR REQUEST, WE WILL ARRANGE TO POST YOU A CHEQUE FOR THE AMOUNT YOU’VE ORDERED.  PLEASE NOTE THAT WE WILL ONLY SEND A CHEQUE IF YOU HAVE AVAILABLE FUNDS IN YOUR ACCOUNT. THAT MEANS THAT YOUR CHEQUE WILL NOT BE ISSUED UNTIL EITHER YOUR BENEFITS OR SALARY ARE RECEIVED AND, WITH ONE DAY’S POSTAGE, IT MAY NOT BE RECEIVED BY YOU UNTIL 8 DAYS AFTER THE INSTRUCTION IS RECEIVED.

THE CHEQUE CAN ONLY BE CASHED AT THE BROAD STREET POST OFFICE. THE BROAD STREET POST OFFICE WILL REMAIN OPEN DURING LOCKDOWN, BUT PLEASE CALL THEM ON 616616 TO CHECK THEIR OPENING TIMES. YOU WILL NEED TO PRODUCE PHOTOGRAPHIC IDENTITY TO CONFIRM WHO YOU ARE’.

How can you help us

  • Those members with credEcards should continue to email us or post or drop-off written and signed instructions through our letterbox in order to request a top-up to their cards.
  • If you don’t have a credEcard, we strongly recommend that you apply for one. We can send you a form.
  • Any member who has another bank account should use this for all their priority payments and cash withdrawals (we can transfer money to this account, if you send us a signed instruction to do so).

Emergency assistance

If you need to make an application for emergency funding, please email or call us and we will get back to you to discuss your situation. If necessary, we will post or email you an application form.

Anyone needing additional help or financial assistance should call the Government helpline on 445566 or contact their Parish Hall, where they will be directed to the support they need.
